They are left high and dry by the very people they count on and the deranged who move about aimlessly or without any destinations. Gandhibhavan provides a daycare centre for our infants, towddlers and kids.   It caters to the developmental and age appropriate care,needs and opportunities to excplore, learn and create.  The safe, healthy and nurturing environment foster the physical,emotional , intellectual and social growth with thier development.  We have dedicated, devoted and professional fecilitators for this venture.  The tiny tots enjoy music and movement, fine motor and gross motor activities, rest and sleep moments, story time, tasty meal breaks and regular paediatric visits.   Children that provides all the learning developmental tools and guidance that children need at this age. Gandhibhavan has a children’s home that is dedicated to provide a safe home for socially and financially deprived children. The children’s is home to children of all ages from kindergarteners to college going children. The home provides the children with a host of facilities that include comfortable accommodation, nutritious food, proper and appropriate medical treatment and recreation facilities. They are also given general education, art, sports, culture, music training. The purpose and vision of then home is to ensure a safe and loving environment for these children who have been unfortunate not to have received the love and affection of their families and loved ones. Gandhibhavan provides schooling to the needs of over 250 special needs students with our special school that caters to the special needs of the children with cerebral palsy, autism and other types of mental and physical disabilities. The school serves as a learning and developmental resource for these students who comprise of inmates of Gandhibhavan and children coming from poor and impoverished families living within a 60 kilometer radius of Gandhibhavan. At the special school the children are provided with a range of developmental skills that help them to have employment and lead better and dignified lives. They are also provided infrastructure like air conditioned smart classrooms, physiotherapy rooms and are trained in extracurricular activities like arts and sports along with vocational training like handicraft making. Gandhibhavan provides a roof with all the necessary basic amenities for children and old aged women who need special care and attention. This is a three storied building that house the elderly mothers on the first and second floors while the children are housed on the ground floor respectively. These beautiful souls need caring, affection and most importantly, compassion. It is our mission at Gandhibhavan to provide them with a place that they can truly call their home in every sense of the way. With our constant care and the support to four generous and benevolent benefactors and well wishers, these wonderful people have begun to see hope and joy in the final years of their lives. The home is comprehensively supported by a team of doctors and medical staff. There are doctors who specialize in psychiatry, homeo and ayurveda. Gandhibhavan recognizing the needs of poor and destitute women, who are sick or terminally ill, set up this pain and palliative care home for these women who have no one to look after them. At the home the inmates are provide with all the necessities that help ease their day to day lives which is difficult to endure because for the pain and suffering they endure due to their illnesses. Gandhibhavan has set up a shelter that provides a rehab centre and living home for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. We at Gandhibhavan understood the need for providing a safe and caring environment for these victims and set up this shelter that is home to home more than 100 inmates. Gandhibhavan also offers specialized legal counsel and services for these women and children in association with Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA). The shelter is able to provide speedy redressal of grievances through the support of KELSA’s special team of legal counsel that consists of high court judges and lawyers.

Netaji block is exclusively for the youths who are suffering from the fatal diseases. Physically handicapped persons are rehabilitated in ‘sabarmathy’ village where most of them are devoid of their legs, hands or other parts and also include the ones who cannot fulfil their preliminary needs without support. Gandhibhavan has a well-furnished library with over 10000 titles across several languages. The library thrives on donations from generous people from all over the world who believe that reading can take people to places and lands they have never visited. Gandhibhavan set this library up as a recreational facility for its inmates who can indulge in reading books and newspapers on a daily basis. View Photos

Gandhibhavan has set up a tailoring unit for its inmates to provide them with a platform to earn a living in the most dignified manner. The inmates are also giving classes to help them learn the skills necessary to take up tailoring as a profession. View Photos

KELSA – KERALA LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY : Free legal aid is provided by the KELSA’s Neethibhavan functioning at Gandhibhavan. The clinic functioning under the High Court of Kerala. Mega Adalat is being conducted in every quarter.

KERALA WOMEN’S COMMISSION  “A”  GRADE UNIT : An ‘A’ Grade Unit of Kerala State Women Commission is functioning at Gandhibhavan to provide Legal Aid and Legal Protection to women and children.

SPC- SERVICE PROVIDING CENTRE : The centre registered under Government of Kerala, It provides legal aid and security for women and children under Domestic Violence Prevention and Regulation Act.

Gandhibhavan represents the secular fabric of society. There is only religion here and that is ‘love’. Prayers and regular meditation gatherings have been held here for a record creating 1700 days. Gandhibhavan has a system of governance implemented through its own panchayat called Snehagramam panchayat. This is a system of governance which works like a regular panchayat with all the democratic procedures of nominations, elections and sessions of Panchayat where elected members gather and meet in October each year to discuss matters of importance and for the better functioning of Gandhibhavan.

Gandhibhavan has a kitchen unit that serves almost 1300 inmates, staff and visitors on a daily basis. The food supplies and rations are donated by patrons who contribute generously to the needs of the kitchen. The kitchen is blessed with modern facilities for preparing and serving the food. Gandhibhavan has its own in house organic farming facility which serves the provision and grocery requirements of Gandhibhavan to a large extent. The organic farming practices are taken up by the residents, staff and volunteers at Gandhibhavan in association with the Krishi Bhavan whose team of officers provide valuable support to this effort.
